Beaches Committee
Purpose / Charter
The Beaches Committee oversees the general maintenance & enhancement of the amenities at the Long Bay beaches, such as the beach areas, gazebo, and playground.

Completed Beach Projects
The following projects have been completed:
- Swim raft was installed at the south beach in May 2015
- 3 picnic tables have been sanded, stained, & are now at the beach area;
- Landscaping ties have been anchored on the ground surrounding the playground equipment, mulch has been spread within the ties to provide a soft landing for kids, & the equipment has been stained;
- New swim line ropes & markers have been installed;
- The gazebo has been thoroughly refurbished, stained, & painted;
- Barrels of flowers have been added;
- The retaining wall at the far beach has been repaired to stop beach erosion;
- More beach furniture has been added by transfer of the pool furniture;
- A rinsing shower with hot water has been added to the back porch of the Clubhouse;
- New life-saving rings and first-aid kits were added to both beaches;
- New aesthetic trash bins have replaced the old barrels;
- Some muck clearing was accomplished and rocks moved from the wading areas;
- Extensive landscaping was added to the path at the Clubhouse;
- The Clubhouse benches and entry were stained.
Potential Beach Projects
The Beaches Committee is currently investigating the following projects:
- An extensive project to clean out the leaves & debris (possibilities include raking the debris or an engineering project to open part of the breakwater to increase flow that would allow natural clean out of leaves & debris);
- Investigate adding a barbeque / fire pit area.
